MC Jacobs

Attorney and Conveyancer | B.Com, LLB

MC completed his degrees in commerce and law at the University of the Free State.

His working career started at Hill, McHardy & Herbst Attorneys in Bloemfontein as a candidate attorney in 2000. MC was admitted as an attorney early in 2002, where after he relocated to Cape Town and made his next stop at Heibre Auctioneering and Marketing, where he obtained valuable practical experience in general business management, and also qualified and acted as auctioneer and appraiser for private, financial and government institutions.

In 2004 MC was appointed in his first position as an admitted attorney at Symington & De Kok Attorneys' Hermanus office, which necessitated a temporary relocation with the main aim to expand the firm’s national footprint by establishing a client base in Cape Town that could justify the opening of a new office in Cape Town. This goal was reached sooner than expected and MC returned to Cape Town in 2005 when Symington & De Kok Attorneys' Bellville office was opened successfully. MC was also admitted as a conveyancer in the latter part of 2005. The next few years saw MC grow steadily in the firm, culminating in becoming a partner at Symington & De Kok on 1 March 2007. He served in this capacity for 12 years before deciding to start his own law firm on 1 March 2019.

He holds various leadership roles, from time to time serving and acting as trustee (independent and otherwise) in a number of trusts, as director for various private and non-profit companies and as committee member and/or trustee, vice-chairperson and chairperson respectively in a number of property owners associations, sectional title development scheme bodies corporate and sporting clubs and associations in the Free State and Western Cape.
